  • Junior Systems Engineer

    Role and Responsibilities
    Evo rail is a small team with big ambitions and is looking for an enthusiastic person to join its technology team. A team that is keen to share their knowledge, help develop your skills and understanding as well as wanting you to contribute ideas and make a difference.

    The Junior Systems Engineer will be part of the evo rail team in developing the network and systems to deliver a high quality on track, station and on train infrastructure to deliver market leading wireless broadband connectivity services to rail operators and their customers. This role will be working primarily with the Chief Engineer and Chief Network Architect in supporting the design, delivery and support of the evo rail solutions. This role will span network planning, coding, innovation and automation. It requires an individual who is self-motivated, willing to travel both in the UK and abroad, learn on the job, have a passion for engineering and not be afraid to contribute.

    Key elements of the role:

    • Design and test of IP Networks
    • Development of Network Management Systems through use of software such as Grafana and LibreNMS, InfluxDB
    • Management of network configuration data
    • Develop process and planning tool automation
    • Network data querying and analysis
    • Analysis of geographical data to enable planning of Rail-5G
    • Testing and monitoring of the rail-5G system
    • Sourcing and testing of components
    • Design, test and implement prototype designs and solutions.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Sales and Marketing Assistant

    Evo-Rail is recruiting for a Sales and Marketing Assistant. Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, this is an exciting and fast-paced role where you will have responsibility for providing full administrative support to the team, enabling the smooth delivery of sales campaigns, lead generation, brand management and marketing activity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with lead generation through pro-active market outreach, contacting prospects, contacts and companies of interest to generate leads for sales
    • Help to drive new business opportunities and develop new customers
    • Support end-to-end sales campaigns, aiding with promotional material and deployment to the sales team.

  • Project Support Officer

    Role and Responsibilities
    Evo-rail is recruiting a highly organised and proactive Project Support Officer to provide support across multiple Track to train communication programmes. These are exciting, fast paced programmes for which you will play a core role in ensuring smooth and timely delivery of specific tasks and documents.

    Key responsibilities for the PMO Project Support Officer role:

    • Provision of day to day Business Support duties for the Operations team, including ongoing maintenance of dashboards and the maintenance of monthly update reports, decisions, actions, risks and issue logs
    • Liaise with partners and project teams to collate information to support the ongoing reporting of progress and impact of the South Western Railway programme
    • Proactively working with the Operations team to determine the status for all actions on the action log
    • Own specific Approval processes with NR: ensure accurate and timely documentation is prepared for the Approval requests, and chase NR for updates
    • Organisation and attendance of key project meetings

  • Technical Service Manager

    Role and Responsibilities
    Reporting to the Operations Director, the Technical Service Manager will ensure that evo rail’s end-to-end network operations can be delivered successfully to evo rail’s customers. To achieve this, the Technical Service Manager will monitor the customer support requests, ensure the involvement of evo rail’s Design Team and/ or 1st Level Helpdesk Team before reporting on progress and on resolution while ensuring that all necessary procedures and documents are in place to run a Network Operations Centre.

    The Technical Service Manager will put one-self’s technical and business knowledge to use by helping to manage the challenges evo rail’s customers might face with the 5G Solution.

    Your role will be varied and will include:

    • Operational Customer Relationship Management – Customer Satisfaction, Service Evangelism, Service Level Management, Service Reporting
    • Continual Service Improvement and Problem Management – identifying and owning customer-aligned Service Improvement Plans and delivering Problem Management governance.
    • Service Governance & Control – developing the processes which we rely on to provide successful outcomes to our customers. These include initially Incident, Change Management and Reporting.
    • Service Management Tooling – operating the toolsets which support the successful execution of our internal processes.

    Key elements of the role:

    • Work with Design Team to technical resolution of issues within agreed SLAs
    • Work with Service Delivery team to ensure smooth transition of evo rail’s new 5G contracts into Operations; for this, contribute to the documentation of the Service Transition
    • Support successful Operations of evo rail’s new 5G contracts

  • Electrical Design Engineer

    The role will suit someone seeking to join a dynamic innovative technology team that want to deliver world leading technology on the railways.     Role and Responsibilities

    The role will lead the design, development, and deployment of the optimal electrical designs to ensure we can deploy track to train services across the world. This role will cover train, track side, station electrical design as well as developing renewable solution used to power Rail 5G.

    The role will be a mix of design, design validation, setting standards and some hands-on survey work and prototype deployment. The ideal candidate will have skills that expand beyond just Electrical engineering and will have a willingness to contribute to the overall technology innovation, design and delivery.

    Key elements of the role:

    • Assist in the detailed planning and execution of evo rail infrastructure installations on track and on train.
    • Validate, test and challenge supplier’s designs and deployment plans
    • Attending all necessary engineering meetings both internally and externally.
    • Ensuring that all reasonable care is taken to ensure that work is conducted professionally and safely and in accordance with agreed standards.
    • Develop and understand industry best practices and apply these to evo-rails technology strategy and design
    • Develop and drive the deployment of renewable powered solutions.
    • Contribute to the creation and updating of policies and procedures
    • Undertaking electrical surveys of sites as required and proposing likely works to the wider construction team for discussion and agreement.
    • Conduct outline design and detailing of rail electrical infrastructure providing accurate and appropriate imagery. Producing details specifications and calculations for power upgrades, lighting schemes, earthing schemes & point heating etc.
    • Producing accurate designers risk assessments using a wide variety of forms.
    • Submission of quality design documents in accordance with NR/L2/ELP/27311, collating the key components as appropriate for inclusion.
    • Preparing E&P information as required in support of business bid activities.

    Desirable Qualifications and experience

    • Driving licence.
    • Practical experience and appreciation of system design, development of system design, safety concepts and associated decision making as applied to railway E&P projects.
