Current Opportunities

  • Site Officer

    evo-rail (as part of First Group) is looking for an experienced officer to represent its interests during the trackside infrastructure build of its rail-5G solution. So, liaising and working closely with our Infrastructure Provider and Network Rail to ensure:

    • adherence to safety measures,
    • meeting the delivery plan
    • certifying completion of works
    • offering on-hand support and agreement/rejection of variations
    • daily, weekly and month co-ordination of events with suppliers
    • weekly and monthly reporting
    • oversight and QA

    This role will include regular nightshifts (up to 2 per week but tailing off as delivery gathers pace) and travel, initially Basingstoke - Earls field and Euston – Birmingham NS - Litchfield . You will requires a current Sentinel PTS, if not COSS and IWO accreditations. It also requires a detailed understanding of trackside infrastructure deployment, NR processes and practises and a calm nature that ensures you can think clearly and decisively to advise and instruct the best course of action that balance cost and quality. The latter especially applies to minimising and manage variations, whilst driving forward planning for a smooth and continuous delivery. In doing this, working through ongoing risk and issues.

  • Sales Manager

    This person is essentially an ‘opener’ that can work with the Marketing and Sales team’s target database to open and develop long term relationships in positioning the rail-5G solution. As such, this person will have:

    • Experience of complex sales process
    • Prospecting and profiling
    • Working with marketing in developing awareness and interest
    • Positioning and opening
    • Meetings, demonstrations and event
    • Ideally, awareness of Miller Heiman methodology, including lead assessment

    The role is very much about exporting the energy and wow factor of the rail-5G solution to our target audience and ensuring they fully aware of it benefits and capability as positioned versus existing alternatives. The sales cycle is a long one but we have only one chance at ‘opening’ well. The role will require exceptionally high energy, a technical aptitude, someone who likes people and willing to play the long game but at least close on a demonstration (to date, few have not been immediately interested). This will take strength of character, emotional maturity and an in-built likability, not forgetting sales agility. This is not hard sales and fast dialling, or starting cold but building a relationship platform that closes on a meeting/demo as the sale will take another year!
